  • Christina shows us some features of the newest iOS7 iMessage including swiping to see the times of your sent and recieved text messages and selecting and del.
  • If you'd like to get rid of all the messages on your iPhone, here's how to delete all iMessages: Tap Messages on the home screen. In the top left, tap Edit. Select the conversations you want to erase.
  • Open the 'Messages' app on your iPhone or iPad. If you want to delete an entire conversation, you can swipe left on any of the message threads within the app and tap on 'Delete'. When you're asked to confirm your action, tap on 'Delete' again.
  • This means you should attack the issue from multiple angles, as deleted text messages, iMessages, and picture messages may still linger out on a cloud service somewhere.

Yes, the swipe works but it is still a two step process as iMessage then asks you to confirm that you want to delete the message - in Catalina, so long as I had 'Keep messages forever' checked in Preferences, it would delete without this second step.
